Exide Industries on Monday reported subdued results in the second quarter when compared to the previous quarter. Exide Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer P. K. Kataky said better growth in automotive and motorcycle replacement battery sales, as well as improved telecom business and UPS battery business has resulted in improved performance. The company’s second quarter sales stood at Rs.1,761 crore compared to and Rs.1,427 crore in the same quarter in the previous year.. The net profit was Rs.125.76 crore (Rs.118.80 crore).
