Amazon India representatives meet Karnataka CM to streamline tax procedures

May 28, 2015 06:25 pm | Updated 06:26 pm IST - Bengaluru

Representatives of Amazon India on Thursday called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and urged him to streamline tax procedures of the Commercial Tax Department.

A few months ago, the Commercial Tax Department had issued notices to dealers of the work with the Indian arm of Amazon.com Inc., practically barring them from doing business with the e-commerce retailer.

Mr. Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio, told the department officials to hold another round of meeting with Amazon India representatives to sort out issues related to taxes and evasion of taxes by online dealers.
