Sensex up by 35 points in late morning deals

After witnessing wide fluctuations, the benchmark BSE Sensex was trading up by 35.43 points in a range-bound momentum in late morning deals, supported by buying in most of the sectors.

The 30-share index resumed opened higher at 27,561.32 and widely fluctuated between 27,603.71 and 27,402.14, before quoting 27,526.02 at 1045 hrs, showing a gain of 35.43 points from its last close.

The 50-share Nifty was also trading higher by 11.30 points to quote at 8,343.25.

Major gainers on the BSE were ONGC (3.53 per cent), Tata Steel (3.38 per cent), SSLT (1.98 per cent), TCS (1.90 per cent), L&T (1.82 per cent) and Tata Motors (1.59 per cent).

Asian stocks trading lower, key indices in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan fell by 0.41 to 1.72 per cent.

Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite rose 0.95 per cent. Japanese markets are closed on Tuesday.
