Vijaya Bank Q1 net dips 11.6%

Bengaluru-based public sector lender Vijaya Bank witnessed 11.6 per cent declines in its net profit for the first quarter of FY 16 ended June 30, 2015. For the April-June period the bank’s net profit stood at Rs 142.59 crore as against Rs 161.45 crore in the same period last year.

In its filing to BSE the bank also said that it total income for Q1 stood at Rs 3,289.05 crore reporting a marginal jump of 3 per cent when compared to Rs 3,189.95 the year ago period.

Vijaya Bank’s Gross Non Performing Assets (NPAs) ratio for the June quarter rose to 3.39 per cent from 2.68 per cent the year-ago period. Meanwhile, net NPAs also increased to 2.45 per cent from 1.77 per cent corresponding period last year, the bank stated in the filing.

On BSE, shares of the Vijaya Bank closed at Rs 40.15 up 2.03 per cent.
