Fans of Tamil actor Vijay on Sunday unveiled a wax statue of their star at a theatre in Chennai.

The statue was sponsored by Facebook Vijay Fans Club.

Members of the club on Sunday unveiled the statue, reportedly worth about Rs.1.5 lakh, at the Vettri theatre in Chennai.

The actor is riding high on the blockbuster success of Tamil action movie “Kaththi”, which released Oct 22. It raked in over Rs. 30 crore in its opening weekend worldwide.

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, “Kaththi” also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead.

Vijay is known for delivering hits like “Ghilli”, “Thuppakki” and “Jilla”.
