The 46th Comic-Con International in San Diego kicked off on July 21 in San Diego, California and man, did they deliver:

The Wonder Woman solo film

At last! After a smashing (sometimes literally) debut in Batman vs Superman earlier this year, it looked like Gal Gadot’s solo Wonder Woman film was taking forever to see the light of the day.

But Warner Bros unveiled the trailer at San Diego and Gadot actually revealed she took inspiration from the real-life Princess Diana!

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya and Ewen Bremner. The film releases in June 2017

Khal Drogo is alive!

Okay, no. Sorry, GoT fans. That’s just Jason Momoa in his Aquaman avatar for Justice League.

Warner Bros unveiled the trailer for the promised Justice League film, starring Batman, Wonder Woman and a bunch of new characters. The film is scheduled to release in November 2017.

All things Marvel

Marvel came back to Comic-Con after a year armed with a bagful of surprises, like Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

They released an exclusive new trailer for Doctor Strange - yes, the film that cast Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One and was accused of whitewashing.

Catch the trailer > here . Bonus points if you can spot an Avengers easter egg!

They also unveiled exclusive looks at Spider-Man: Homecoming, which has only started shooting; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and a Black Panther solo film, neither of which has started shooting yet.

Marvel 2.0

Speaking of Marvel, they also confirmed a key character role that fans had been speculating about, ever since the twitter handle popped up and got itself blue-ticked.

On Saturday, Marvel Studios officially confirmed Oscar winner Brie Larson in the role of Captain Marvel, first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to centre on a female character. > The film is scheduled for release in March of 2019.

Kong: Skull Island

Larson was also in the other awaited-with-a-baited-breath announcement: the trailer of the new King Kong film, Kong: Skull Island.

Finding fantastic beasts

We had a two minute teaser trailer three months ago, but that didn’t seem nearly enough for Potterheads. So Warner Bros. obliged and released a new trailer at Comic Con, just time to shore up expectations for the book launch of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on July 21.

P.S. Listen to for the final seconds of the trailer for a hit of nostalgia.
