Love ruins familial harmony

When the brother’s daughter and sister’s son fall in love, there is chaos, and the relationship between the siblings turn sour in director N. S. Madhavan’s upcoming film, Kathadi Manasu . “Consequently, the couple in love (Maurya and Yuga) wonder whether being in love is akin to enslavement or getting separated is freedom. Thambi Ramaiah and Sujatha have given stellar performances as the siblings in this family drama,” says Madhavan of his third offering (the earlier ones being Maravathey Kanmaniye and Keezhtheru Kicha ). He has introduced Vijay Lokesh as the villain in the film which is in post production.

Just for laughs

After Kola Kolaya Mundirikka and Vallamai Tharayo , director Madhumita is ready with the third, a bilingual, MooneMoonu Vaarthai . “After the comedy caper ( KKM ) and the serious divorce drama ( VT ), Moone Moonu Vaarthai is a fun film, a rom-com to the hilt. I have worked with an almost new team of cast and crew. I should thank producer S. P. Charan for his creative support. Arjun and Rakendu Mouli play the lead in the Tamil and Telugu versions, while Aditi ( Ra) is common to both, as is Venky in the comedian’s role. I can’t reveal much about the storyline except that it is about a quirky business idea,” says Madhumita.

Hashika in a school romance

She opened her innings in Kollywood with the recent release of 1 Pandhu 4 Run 1 Wicket and Hashika Dutt is awaiting the completion of director Srimahesh’s Malar Melnilai Palli . “In this film, I play a Plus Two student who falls in love with the hero, played by Prem. Malar Melnilai Palli, set against a family backdrop, has some action sequences too. The film has been completed and I understand that a Pongal release date has been finalised,” says Hashika.
