Inauguration

The new hostel block of Reva University was inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, while Higher Education and Tourism Minister R.V. Deshpande and Minister for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda were the guests of honour.

Addressing the students and faculty, the Chief Minister said students staying in hostels acquire qualities of community living and teamwork.

Moot competition

The XIX All India Moot Court Competition organised by the Society of Mooters, a student body of the University Law College, Bangalore University, was inaugurated by Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, T.B. Jayachandra. Justice M. Rama Jois, former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana and former Governor of Jharkhand and Bihar, and B. Thimme Gowda, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University, were also present.

Mr. Jayachandra, while addressing the students, expressed his concern about the lack of standards in legal education. He further motivated the students to take up law as a profession with high ethical and moral standards.

Fest

The two-day all-India management fest “Perceptions 2015” of M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management was inaugurated by Ranjita Rao, Assistant General Manager, Resources, HDFC Ltd. The theme was digitisation with a tagline ‘Digitise your senses’.

Seminar

“India has an immense potential in terms of qualifying scientific manpower and natural resources. The rich bio-diversity combined with innovations in science and technology can shape the future of the country,” said Ashok Kumar Saxena, General President, Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata, while inaugurating the three-day ‘National Seminar on Science and Technology for Human Development,’ jointly organised by the Indian Science Congress Association, Bangalore Chapter (ISCA) and Kristu Jayanti College.

He further emphasised on the need for a holistic approach towards science and technology for human development. Such an approach will aim at eradicating poverty and enhancing lifestyles and will ensure social welfare.
