The International Office in conjunction with Aberystwyth University - IBERS has recruited two Newton Bhabha Ph.D. scholars — Aiswarya Girija from Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology and Sabiha Khatoon from Aligarh Muslim University — this June, making Aberystwyth the only Welsh University to host students under this scheme from India.

These scholars are among 26 gold medallists, selected from hundreds of applicants, who have been made eligible to conduct part of their research in a U.K. institution.

The International Office and IBERS are looking forward to designing a dedicated plan to further solidify connections in India with the aim of forming research-led collaborations with some of the elite Indian institutes under this scheme.

With 360 members of staff, IBERS is the largest institute within Aberystwyth University.

It is committed to international research and partnership, especially with India.
