IIM – CAT on November 29

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) has invited online applications from August 6 to September 20 through the website www.iimcat.ac.in for the Common Admission Test (CAT – 2015) to be held on November 29 in two sessions across the country for admissions to various management postgraduate and doctoral level Fellow Programmes. There are 19 IIMs functioning at Kozhikode, Tiruchi, Visakhapatnam, Ahamedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Indore, Kashipur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Udaipur. The programmes offered at different IIMs include Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), PGP Agri Business Management (ABM), PG Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM), PGP in Business Management and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM).

Those who have obtained bachelor's degree in any discipline with atleast 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA (45 per cent for SC/ST and Differently-Abled (DA) candidates) or those appearing for the final-year bachelor's degree/ equivalent examination / awaiting degree results are eligible to apply. The candidates should submit the proof of qualification latest by June 30, 2016.

The registration fee is Rs. 1600 and Rs. 800 for SC/ ST/PwD/ DA candidates. There are 136 test centres and the candidates have to select any four centres with preference.

The registration window www.iimcat.ac.in will open on August 6 and will close on September 20. The registration process and CAT 2015 details can be obtained at the website.

The CAT results will be declared by the second week of January and the score will be made available at the website. CAT – 2015 score is valid till December 31, 2016.

The IIM-CAT score is used for short listing candidates for admission process that includes Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PT). IIMs may consider previous academic performance and relevant work experience for admission.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

Reservations are available for scheduled caste (15 per cent), Scheduled Tribe (7.5 per cent) , Other Backward Classes, Non Creamylayer (27 per cent) as per Government of India norms.

IIM-CAT Score will be considered for short-listing candidates for admission process of various management institutes and business schools in the country besides IIMs.
