It was a bright, sunny morning and the children of the Forest Apartment were playing cricket gleefully on the ground. A nice, cool, lush patch of land they fondly referred to it as their favourite area to play. But of late, the children were not being allowed to use the ground.
An architectural firm had bought the land and they were going to build a high-rise building. Every week, people came and felled the trees.
They were gloomy and sad. Soon, the once cheerful apartment changed into a melancholic place. The children were sad and annoyed with the sudden turn of events. This did not go unnoticed as everyone started reacting and protested and campaigned all day long. They were determined to save their beloved childrens’ playground and change the way people were treating Mother Earth.
But as the saying goes, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’, the children made up their mind to save their one and only source of fun — their ground.
They tried every possible way to persuade the owners of the firm by putting up posters, conducting mini-meetings using loudspeakers and so on. At first, the owners were reluctant to give up their land as it was a lucrative project. But, finally, they agreed, along with an offer to build a nature park along and a nice playground. Thus, the small, tender minds of the children were able to save their precious playground. So, once again, Forest apartment regained its joy and cheerfulness!
