I came to the city almost eight years ago with my brother from my village in Darjeeling. We started a small momo stall in Maruti Seva Nagar.

We stayed close by and making ends meet wasn’t very difficult. As more and more people came into the city, we moved the stall to HRBR layout, owing to the large expat and migrant population in the area. Our day starts at 5 in the morning, when we go to the City Market to buy vegetables. We start making the momos from nine in the morning and it takes up most of my time till three in the afternoon.

After a small break, we head to the stall and serve piping hot momos; chicken momos are the most popular. We wrap up for the day by 9 in the night.

As more and more people have poured into the city, competition has also increased considerably. We manage to do well thanks to a loyal clientele.

The city has changed a lot over the past decade. I hope it becomes cheaper and we get better services. I want to set up a small restaurant in the area.
