At a time when parents tend to worry for their kids playing in a safe area, not getting hurt, being under their supervision, and getting their ‘me’ time KydzAdda comes up with a compact solution for all these.

At the busy traffic junction in Thyagaraja Nagar, tucked away in a humongous three-storey building is KydzAdda, with a jungle-themed play gym, slides, trampolines, ball pits, swirly slide, tube tunnel, climbing levels — starting with toddlers all the way up to age 12.

Add to it a café, library, free wifi and party halls and activities for kids and parents and it’s pretty much a self-sustained bubble world for children. Deepti and Mahesh Yanamandalla migrated from Australia back home to India with their two boys, only to find that it was difficult to find one place where they could all have fun as a family. Moreover, as Deepti says, “In this digital age where kids are glued to their televisions and play stations, we felt that physical play activity is essential for the overall development of a child.” Their idea is “to cater to the needs of parents and children who are looking out for a fun, safe and hygienic environment to have a great time”.

For toddlers (under age 4) there’s an exclusive cushiony play area with a separate ball pit and play pen. The 5,000 square feet grand play area is monitored by her trained staff. “A lot of parents who work from home come here, use our free wifi, get their work done, and at the same time are able to keep an eye on their kids as they play.” The café with wifi overlooks the entire play area. The place has also become popular with groups of mums who are friends who come in with their children and enjoy their coffee while the kids are at play. There’s a little library with over 800 books for kids — including colouring books, interactive books, novels. Books can also be borrowed like in a regular lending library. KydzAdda also organises birthday parties with customised packages. It’s another big plus that Mahesh runs a hotel and therefore makes all the catering arrangements for the birthdays! There’s a small hall for parties with up to 30 guests, another where up to 100 guests can be accommodated. And on the first floor, they have a much larger space for up to 300 guests. Themed parties, decoration, activities, and entertainment like magic shows, puppet shows are also organised, depending on the package chosen.

Apart from this, Deepti also makes sure there are regular workshops, day outings, and field trips, Zumba classes for mums, summer activities for kids, rhythm and rhyme classes, baking classes etc in the activity space on the third floor. They’ve also held regular celebrations for Father’s Day, Halloweeen, Childen’s Day and are gearing up for a Christmas party.

The weekday charges to use the play area for kids under four is Rs. 150 per hour, and for kids over four is Rs. 200 per hour; the weekend charges for the same are Rs. 200 and Rs. 250 respectively. KydzAdda is at 980, 13th cross road, Thyagaraja Nagar, Banashankari. Call 2671 5959 / 9686 888 222. It’s open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
