Radio Netherlands Worldwide and the Family Planning Association of India, country's leading organization have got together to provide reliable information to the people on reproductive and sexual health.

Under an agreement between the two organisations, the Family Planning Association (FPA) of India will certify the contents of the Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) Love Matters website on sexual health and relationships. FPA India and RNW will work closely on providing reliable information to adolescents and young adults via the website and in FPA India's reproductive health centres.

Love Matters is a website about love, sex, relationships and everything in between. We can find the latest news and views on sex-related topics from around the world and loads of blush-free information to help you get the best out of sex and relationships and stay healthy and happy. It is on the Facebook and loads of youngsters have been tweeting too, expressing themselves freely on sex and sexuality which is otherwise a taboo in Indian society. FPA India is happy to work with RNW to generate awareness among youth and young adults to help them develop a positive and healthy attitude towards sex and sexuality, Vishwanath Koliwad, Secretary General, FPA India said.

“This partnership is a strategic alliance for us which will be of great value for both the organisations to strengthen our individual agenda. I am happy to note the objective of RNW: Project Love Matters and the innovative way of providing right and scientific information to young persons on sex and sexuality issues which they can access at their convenient time with complete privacy and confidentiality maintained.”

RNWs Love Matters coordinator Michele Ernsting is delighted to work with such a well-respected organization as FPA India. “Their experience and reach, combined with our web-based platform means we can help large numbers of people access the information they need to make the best possible decisions about their sexual health.“

Since the launch of the web and mobile sites Lovematters.info in English and Lovematters.in in Hindi last November, many people have accessed information on sexual health in a private and anonymous environment.

RNW, a multilingual multimedia broadcasting company based in the Netherlands, has been around for over 60 years. An established player in the field of news and entertainment broadcasting, it reaches millions of people every day all over the world. RNW provides independent world news, features and music programmes in 10 languages through satellite, short wave, CDs, mobile platforms, Internet and podcasting. RNW's international audience is also reached through numerous media partners in the world.

Family Planning Association of India, which has over 40 branches across the country, was established in 1949. It envisions sexual and reproductive health for all as a human right, including gender equality leading to alleviation of poverty, population stabilization and sustainable development. FPA India strengthens a voluntary commitment to advocate for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and, choices. It promotes access to sexual and reproductive health information and services related to family planning, safe abortions, HIV/AIDS and sexuality to poor, marginalised and vulnerable populations including young people.
