Advocates to abstain from court proceedings

July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Members of the Coimbatore Bar Association will abstain from all court activities on August 1 and 3 to extend their support to the Federation of Bar Associations of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry for their State-wide boycott seeking fulfilment of various demands. The decision was taken at a meeting of the federation at Salem on Saturday.

Association president P. Nandhakumar said that the demands included considering senior judges in districts for the post of High Court Judges against the existing practice of filling the position with advocates practising at the High Court.
