The Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health conducted safety awareness campaign on Thursday for construction workers at the site for construction of houses for Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board at Keeranatham. The officials spoke to the workers about safe working methods, electrical safety, handling equipment, etc., according to a press release.
Mafatlal issues notices
Mafatlal Industries has served legal notices to more than 200 fabric manufacturers, dealers, distributors and retailers, including some in Coimbatore region, for misusing Mafatlal trademark or logo while selling goods that were not made by the company.
The misuse was more related to Sungrace and Stanrose names in suitings, fabrics, etc. The company has formed teams to collect information on those misusing its name and has been issuing notices for almost a month now.
Hyundai Mobis to expand network
Hyundai Mobis plans to have 36 distributor outlets in the country by the end of this year and 22 are in operation now, according to P.S. Bhumak, group head, Mobis India.
MOBIS India is a 100 per cent subsidiary of MOBIS Korea and it supplies parts and genuine accessories to 2.5 million Hyundai cars on the Indian roads.
Mr. Bhumak told presspersons here recently that the company registered Rs. 1,500 crore business this year in the country, including Rs. 180 crore exports.
It is looking at 10 per cent to 15 per cent growth in the export business and about 25 per cent growth in the domestic market every year.
52 selected for Haj through draw of lots
Fifty-two members of 23 families in Coimbatore and Tirupur districts have been selected through the draw of lots for Haj 2015, said a release from the Coimbatore District Jama-ath. It added that after the direct appointment of 1,699 persons from across Tamil Nadu, only 787 seats were left for draw of lots. Of the 787, the quota for the two districts was 52, it said and added that the 52 had been selected.
