CPI (M) expels party functionary

July 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - COIMBATORE:

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has expelled its Coimbatore District member T.K. Selvaraj for anti-party activities.

In a press release issued here, District Secretary V. Ramamoorthy said that Mr. Selvaraj had not involved himself in any party activities for the past four months. He was also accused of using political influence for ‘undue financial gains.’

Further, the party accused him of getting close to the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

As he had refused to change his course of action despite repeated counsel from the party leaders, Mr. Selvaraj was removed from the primary membership of the party.

The party directed its cadre to severe all ties to Mr. Selvaraj.
