A house surgeon of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital created a ruckus, allegedly in an inebriated condition, during the early hours of Monday.

According to officials, the house surgeon had created a scene near the hospital’s convict ward around 3 a.m. and collapsed.

Police personnel helped him and took him to a hospital ward.

However, a scuffle broke out between the house surgeon and others.

The surgeon suffered a few injuries following which he was hospitalised.

Hospital Dean A. Edwin Joe conducted an inquiry into the incident.

He said that appropriate action would be initiated after the surgeon recovered and facts of the incident were ascertained.
