October 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - COIMBATORE:

The Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bengaluru, has communicated his authorisation for operating passenger train services in the 54.720-km stretch of Pollachi Junction - Palakkad town stations of Palakkad Division under Southern Railway.

It may be noted that the CRS undertook a two-day inspection on October 5 and 6 involving travel in motorised trolleys and then a speed trial run on the recently converted BG line.

Now, the CRS had communicated his authorisation for running passenger trains at a maximum speed of 80 kmph, subject to technical stipulations, which were to be complied with, railway sources said.
