Two labourers from Bihar working in a private company near Arasur were killed in accidents during the late hours of Sunday. Sulur police said that the victims Karu Choudry (28) and Ravindra Choudry (30) were trying to cross the Coimbatore - Avinashi National Highway when the accidents took place.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that Karu Choudry first crossed the median to cross the road when a car speeding from Avinashi to Coimbatore knocked him down leaving him dead on the spot. Ravindra Choudry rushed to his friend’s rescue but was hit by a government bus and died on the spot. Their bodies were taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
Efforts are underway to nab the accused.
