The PSG College of Pharmacy conducted a workshop on Wednesday for community and hospital pharmacists on DOTS-Tuberculosis Therapy to encourage the public private partnership in managing Tuberculosis. The programme was held in collaboration with Revised National TB Control Programme and Indian Pharmaceutical Association - Community Pharmacy Division (IPA-CPD), Mumbai.
Dr. Manjiri Gharat, Vice-President and Chairperson, IPA-CPD, spoke on the role of pharmacists in overcoming the drug resistant problems, treatment failure and ensuring the optimal drug therapy for TB patients.
Dr. Anupama Moorthy, Head, Department of Respiratory Medicine, PSG Hospitals delivered a lecture on clinical issues of tuberculosis management. V. Subramanya Raja, Medical Consultant (Tamil Nadu), WHO, and M. Sakthivel, Deputy Director (TB), spoke.
M. Ramanathan, Principal, PSG College of Pharmacy, inaugurated the workshop.
