The Aam Aadmi Party has found another platform to run its campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. This time, it has come up with a web-based radio service.

Called ‘Mango - Aam Aadmi Ka Radio or Common Man’s Radio’ talks about the party’s campaign and takes pot shots at rivals.

The party on Sunday tweeted about the new service. “The 24x7 web-radio station of AAP. Must listen and RT!” was the message posted on the party’s handle @AamAadmiParty. It was retweeted over 150 times till late evening.

The party also posted a link redirecting to the radio service where listeners can play and pause according to their will. This, said a party leader, was cheaper in comparison to posting advertisements on FM radio channels where the AAP and rival BJP often target each other.

He also added that the play-pause option provided the listeners the option of tuning into the radio at their leisure as the programmes would be repeated.

The content mainly include pre-recorded messages by party convener Arvind Kejriwal and other senior leaders where they can be heard relaying the party’s message and agenda for the elections. For instance, in one of the messages, senior party leader Manish Sisodia is talking about rural development and what they ought to do to improve their lives. In addition, they post jingles and also plays recordings from press conferences it has held in the past.

One such archived press conference being broadcast on Sunday night was the one where Mr. Kejriwal retorted to remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeting him at Ramlila Maidan rally earlier this month.

Users can also select the option of AAP radio on the party’s website to listen to the programmes.
