BJP blames Sheila Dikshit Government

Countering the Congress allegations of transferring flats meant for the economically weaker sections (EWS) to general category in the DDA Housing Scheme 2014, the BJP has alleged that the former Sheila Dikshit Government collected crores of rupees in the name of registration fee under the Rajiv Ratna Awas Yojna in 2007-08, but not a single flat was allotted.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay alleged that the 25,000 flats offered in the scheme were deliberately kept vacant by the previous government as “the then Central Ministers, Lieutenant-Governor, and the vice-chairman of the DDA could allot flats to the party men under discretionary quota”.

“Just after the government formation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started reviewing working of various departments and it is surprising that these 25,000 flats had been rotting for years when there was a shortage of houses in Delhi ,” said Mr. Upadhyay.
