As many as 71 teams participated in the Delhi round of the CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest (CCCC) 2015 held at Salwan Public School in Rajendra Nagar on Monday.
Anshika Goel and Mahima Yadav of Maharaja Agrasen Public School were declared winners, while Divya Vaid and Arpan Chatterjee of The Mother’s International School were runners-up. Both schools have now qualified for the finale to be held later this year.
The winners were awarded by chief guest Mr. S S C Parthiban, GGM (HR) Head Coordination.
Though both teams were tied, Maharaja Agrasen School was declared the winner as its team had submitted the answer sheet eight minutes ahead of the runner-ups.
The contest is a national-level competition that is open to students of classes IX to XII in schools affiliated to any of the recognised boards. It is conducted in two phases — the city rounds and the finale — where teams vie for the National trophy in the national capital.
The CBSE had announced the contest through a circular on May 8, 2015. The event itself is coordinated by Extra-C, a Patna-based NGO. More details can be accessed at www.crypticsingh.com .
