Delhi University’s third cut-off list, which was released late on Friday, brought hope for many students who were finally able to secure seats in North Campus colleges.

Many colleges reduced cut-offs by one to two per cent with the third list. North Campus colleges like Hansraj College, Hindu College and Kirori Mal College still have admissions open for popular courses like B.Com. (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.) English, B.A. (Hons.) Economics and B.A. (Hons.) History.

The dip in cut-off for B.A. (Hons.) Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce came as good news for many students, who withdrew admissions from other colleges for a seat at SRCC.

Gaurav Mehta from Kolkata said: “I secured 97.5 per cent and was able to get admission in SRCC. I am so happy that seats were still left.”

Some others, however, are still waiting for the fourth cut-off list. Ashima Bajaj from Delhi, who scored 95.75 per cent in Class XII, said: “I have got a seat in Daulat Ram College for Economics, but I am still waiting for the fourth list. I am hoping to get into Hindu College or Hansraj College.”

While there was some cheer in North Campus, not many students were visible in the South Campus colleges, most of which closed admissions with the second cut-off list. Admissions to B.Com. (Hons.) and B.A. (Hons.) Economics, however, are still open in some colleges.

Among South Campus colleges, Sri Venkateswara College, Moti Lal Nehru and ARSD College received maximum applications.

While A.R.S.D. College closed admissions for most courses for the general category, Sri Venkateswara has seats available for B.Com. (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.) Economics and B.A. (Hons.) Maths. Moti Lal Nehru College, after two unusually high cut-offs, closed admissions to B.Com (Hons.) for the general category, along with courses such as Economics and English. Jesus and Mary College did not come out with a third cut-off list.
