Notices to Sharmila, Saif for code violation

Veteran film actor Sharmila Tagore and her actor son Saif Ali Khan have been issued notices for holding a party at their palace in Pataudi on Friday in violation of Model Code of Conduct.

The notices have been issued by the Returning Officer-cum-SDM of Pataudi, Virender Chaudhary, on the directions of Ajai Shankar Pandey, election observer for the Pataudi Assembly constituency.

As per the notice, the two have been accused of using a loudspeaker and organising a cocktail party at Pataudi Mahal on Friday evening without obtaining specific permission from the competent authority.

The two have been asked to explain their conduct by 3 p.m. on October 21.

According to the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct is applicable in Haryana up to October 22.
