Security beefed up in Gurgaon

In view of the terror attack at Gurdaspur in Punjab on Monday, the security was beefed up in Gurgaon.

Gurgaon Police spokesperson said police deployment was augmented at crowded places, market areas, shopping malls, railway stations, metro stations and bus stands. The bomb disposal squad, dog squad and Quick Reaction Teams have also been put on alert.

Stating that security across Haryana has been stepped up, Haryana Additional Director General Police (Law and Order) Mohammad Akil said all senior officers, including District Superintendents of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, Inspectors and Station House Officers, have been directed to patrol roads, deploy security duties and search suspicious-looking vehicles and persons.

He said the Government Railway Police has also been instructed to keep vigil on stations, tracks and trains. He said while making security checks, care was being taken not to harass the innocent citizens.
