He said that the Government was committed to ensuring the children of enjoying their right to education and it would be done with a sense of urgency with the children rescued in Hyderabad.
The recent raids conducted by the police and Labour Department of Telangana rescued about 400 children from the bangles industry in the city. The Minister said it was unfortunate that the industry famous for crafted bangles in the country and abroad had employed children for the work. “This is totally unacceptable,” he said.
The children were brought from several towns and villages in Bihar after paying a paltry sum of Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000 and were forced to work for minimal salary.
Meanwhile, some of the children, who were put up in Rescue Home in Ramanthapur were shifted to Fever Hospital after an outbreak of chickenpox. The children are suffering from various skin diseases due to their exposure to hazardous chemicals.
