The JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH) is establishing yet another university college at Singoor village in Medak district and it will be operational from the 2012-13 academic year.
The new college will offer B.Tech in four streams with 60 seats each and these include Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Civil and Environmental Engineering apart from a new course Material Science and Nano Technology.
The JNTUH Chief Engineer, Prof. Vishwanatham from the Civil Engineering department said that the campus would come up in 54 acres in Singoor village near Sangareddy.
He said the land has been identified and the process of giving them possession is on. The Government Order with regard to sanction of funds is being awaited and the construction would start once the funds are released. The classes are likely to be run in rented buildings to start with.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Damodar Rajanarsimha has been lobbying for a university college in his constituency for long. In fact, the proposals were submitted last year when Prof. D.N. Reddy was the Vice-Chancellor.
