Gregorian leads at CBSE fest

Gregorian Public School, Maradu, maintained its winning streak at the 20 Kerala CBSE School Youth Central Zone fest here on Friday.

: Gregorian Public School, Maradu, maintained its winning streak at the 20 Kerala CBSE School Youth Central Zone fest here on Friday.

The school won 317 points to lead the overall point tally and Toc H Public School, Vyttila, was in second place with 303 points when results of 80 competitions were declared on the second day of the event. Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya was at third position, with 272 points.

Winners of some of the events in category 5 were: Cartoon drawing: Megha S. (Cochin Refinery School, Ambalamugal). Mapilapattu: Zainab Kader Badarudeen (Al-Ameen Public School). English Extempore: Shankar S. Menon (Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar). Light music: Aravind Menon (Sree Narayana Vidya Peetam Public School, Tripunithura).

Category 4: Carnatic music: Kavya Varma P.K. (Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor). Thiruvathira: Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad. Mohiniyattom: Crista Mariam George (Choice Public School, Tripunithura).

Category 3: Patriotic song: Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya. Light music and classical music: Arya Vrinda V. Nair (Bhavan’s Munshi Vidyashram, Thiruvankulam).

Category 2: Malayalam recitation: Aldrin Johny (St. Ann’s Public School, Eloor). Group dance: Toc H Public School, Vyttila. Group song: St. Ann’s Public School, Eloor.

The fest will conclude on Saturday.
