The Kerala High Court on Wednesday adjourned to next week the hearing on a petition seeking a directive to the State government to immediately provide adequate number of textbooks in all government and aided schools in the State. When the petition came up for hearing, Justice K. Vinod Chandran expressed his displeasure over the failure of the government to file a statement in response to the petition. According to the petitioner, V. Sivakumar, there was a complete failure on the part of the government to supply textbooks to the schools in time. The court adjourned the hearing to enable the government pleader to file a statement in the case.— Special Correspondent
