State Child Rights Protection Commission has asked the Director of Public Instruction to withdraw the order recommending entrance exam for students in unrecognized schools, who wish to shift to recognized institutions in Classes between I and VIII.
The commission found that the government directive was a violation of the provisions under the Right to Education Act.
Nazeer Chaliyam, acting chairperson of the commission, said the Secretary, Public Education, and Director of Public Education should issue a new order stating that no entrance examination should be conducted for students, who wanted to shift from unrecognized schools to government recognized schools in classes between I and VIII.
