Members of the Madurai Branch of the Southern India Regional Council, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, rang in ‘CA Day 2015’ with a host of activities.
A walkathon on the theme of ‘Go Green’ was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Samant Rohan Rajendra on the Race Course Road.
R. Jegadeesh, secretary of the Madurai Chapter, said that the CA flag was hoisted at ICAI Bhawan by Kadher Mohideen, a senior member of the Madurai ICAI.
A blood donation camp was also held on ICAI Bhawan premises, which was inaugurated by Government Rajaji Hospital Dean Revwathy Kailairajan.
“As many as 25 members participated in the camp and 12 units of blood were donated,” Mr Jegadeesh said.
A sapling plantation drive was also carried out on the premises. Dungar Chand Jain, chairman of the Madurai Chapter of the Southern India Regional Council, and P.V. Rajarajeswaran, past chairman of the Southern India Regional Council, ICAI, also participated in the event.
