At ‘The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling Fair’

It is already a tearing and tiring summer in Madurai. The heat is on and it is more so in the homes of students and parents waiting for Plus Two results.

As always, this is the homework time for many parents who anxiously look out for colleges, courses and careers for their children as they step into higher education.

To make it easy and simple in making right choice, ‘The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling Fair 2014’ is being organised in Tirunelveli (April 22) and Madurai (April 23).

Experts and higher education analysts will guide the aspiring students based on possible cut-off mark for this year’s admission to professional courses- be it engineering, medicine or law apart from a host of other career prospects available to choose from. Entry is free. This fair will be very beneficial for students of Tenth standard and above for their career planning.

The career counselling fair in Madurai is at Raja Muthiah Mandram on April 23 (Wednesday) from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. with different sessions allotted for pre-counselling guidance. Karumuttu T.Kannan, chairman and correspondent, Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), will inaugurate the fair.

A panel of career experts including Jayaprakash A.Gandhi, career consultant / analyst and S.Vincent, Dean (Research), Loyola College, Chennai, will handle the sessions and answer individual queries of students or parents.

This year’s event has special sessions dedicated to law and chartered accountancy. V.Ramasubramanian, Judge, Madras High Court, with his oratorical skills will orient the students towards law as a career and the tips to shine in legal profession.

T.V.Raja Rajeswaran, chairman, Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Chennai, who hails from Madurai, will speak on ‘CA as a lucrative career’ and why students have to make out of box choices.

Tirunelveli

‘The Hindu Education Plus Career Counselling 2014’ fair will be held at Parvathi Sesha Mahal, S.N.High Road in Tirunelveli on April 22 (Tuesday).

While Mr. Gandhi and Dr. Vincent will make wide presentation on best careers available, the fair will be inaugurated by Pankaj Kumar, vice-president (operations), Sterlite Industries, Tuticorin.

S. Manova Raja, founder and CEO, Fragrhen Academy, Palyamkottai, will guide the students on ‘dream your dream career.’

VIT University, Vellore, is the sponsor and event presenter for this year’s fair in Madurai and Tirunelveli. Associate sponsors are: P.S.R.Engineering College in Sivakasi, P.T.R.College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai and Vickram College of Engineering, Madurai.
