HC relief to Krishnasamy

February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - MADURAI:

The Madras High Court Bench here on Friday permitted Puthiya Tamilagam president K. Krishnasamy to visit the family of party functionary Lakshmanan alias M. Baskar who was murdered near Srivaikundam in Tuticorin district on February 22.

Passing interim orders on a writ petition filed and argued in person by Mr. Krishnasamy, a Division Bench of Justices S. Tamilvanan and V.S. Ravi said the petitioner could visit the family along with 15 others in not more than three vehicles on Sunday without using loudspeakers and raising slogans. The judges also directed police to accompany the petitioner to the spot.

In so far as the petitioner’s plea to quash the prohibitory orders promulgated in the taluk was concerned, the judges ordered notice to the Tuticorin Collector and the SP.
