Defamation case against activist Thimarodi

Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, had lodged a complaint with the Belthangady police on October 18.

Belthangady police are investigating a case of defamation filed by Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, against activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi.

Mr. Heggade had lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police who forwarded it to the Belthangady police on October 18. In the complaint it is alleged that Mr. Thimarodi had levelled ‘false’ accusations that the religious institution was using the police to shield Mr. Heggade’s relatives in the murder case of a second year PU student near Dharmasthala two years ago.

The case is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
