Regional Passport Officer P.S. Karthigeyan has termed the Mangalore Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) as the best among the four PSKs operating in the State in terms of speedy action on passport applications.

Mr. Karthigeyan, who was here in Mangalore to review the working of the PSK here, said the average time spent by applicants at the centre was far less compared to two PSKs in Bangalore and one in Hubli. “This is the best among the four PSKs,” he said. Incidentally, Mr. Karthigeyan said, the Bangalore Passport Office had been rated the best among the 30,000 passport offices in the country.

Mr. Karthigeyan was in the Mangalore PSK on Thursday and Friday. Apart from meeting passport applicants, Mr. Karthigeyan went through the feedback forms. “Around 99.8 per cent of visitors are happy with the facility and services. There are 0.2 per cent of persons seeking better visual appeal at the Kendra,” he said.

Mr. Karthigeyan said Mangalore PSK will be among the four PSKs where Passport Adalat will be held on September 20 and October 11. They had set a target to deal with as many as 2,550 applications on the two days in the State.
