Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has warned telephone subscribers against payment of telephone bills through Paytm mobile wallet transaction system.

A press note issued by the Chief General Manager, BSNL, here on Monday said Paytm was not authorised to collect BSNL bill payments. BSNL, it said, would disconnect the services of customers who remit payments through Paytm. As a one time goodwill measure, disconnected phones would be reactivated if the customer pays the bill through a BSNL counter or any authorised channel within three days. The press note directed customers to use BSNL’s online payment facility through the portal www.portal.bsnl.in.
