Ten police officers from Kerala are among the winners of the Republic Day Police Medals announced on Sunday.
P.G. Jomon, constable, ITBP, has been awarded the police medal for gallantry posthumously. Gopala Raghuvaran Nair, assistant commandant, CISF, and K.K. Jayamohan, Foreigners Regional Registration Office, Thiruvananthapuram, have bagged the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Seven police personnel from the State have been conferred the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. They include Dinendra Kashyap, DIG, Kannur; P.S. Gopi, SP, CB CID Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram; Tom Cheruvandoor Thomas, SP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Kozhikode; Damodaran Rajendran, Dy.SP, Kollam; Krishnan Narayanan Naidu, SI, Crime Detachment, Thiruvananthapuram; Mechery Poulose Davis, ASI, Special Branch, Thrissur; and Skanthakumar Chakrapani Achari, Senior Civil Police Officer, VACB, Thiruvananthapuram. N.S. Dev, Superintendent of Customs, Kochi, got the President’s award of appreciation certificate for specially distinguished record of service.
