Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has written to CBI director Ranjit Sinha seeking steps to facilitate lie detection test on Krishna Kumar, the teacher who was brutally attacked by unidentified persons at Valakom in Kollam district in 2011, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

In his letter on Thursday, Mr. Achuthanandan said an attempt was on to conduct the test at the Kottarakara government guesthouse ignoring Mr. Krishna Kumar’s strong objections to it. Mr. Krishna Kumar had accused Kerala Congress (B) leader R. Balakrishna Pillai of having played a part in the attack on him. He had also complained that he was being harassed by Mr. Pillai and that his wife, the headmistress at the school where Mr. Pillai is the manager, was under suspension for the past nine months, Mr. Achuthanandan said.

Notice to Pillai Special Correspondent writes from Kochi: The High Court on Thursday issued notice to Mr. Pillai on a writ petition seeking to remove him from the post of Manager, Ramavilasam Vocational Higher Secondary School, Valakom.

The notice was issued by Justice P.N. Ravindran on a petition filed by Geetha, wife of Mr. Krishna Kumar.
