6,400 stay away from Group II examination

About 20,500 candidates appeared for the Group II examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) in Tiruchi district on Sunday.

Out of 26,926 candidates to whom hall tickets had been sent for the examinations, only 20,526 candidates appeared.

As many as 6,400 candidates were absent. The examinations were conducted in 60 centres including 39 in Tiruchi taluk. TNPSC member Panneerselvam inspected various centres in Tiruchi.

As many as 12 flying squads carried out surprise inspection at various centres to prevent malpractices. The examination was videographed. No one was allowed to carry mobile phone to the centre.

The centres had been provided with tight security.
