CCTV installed at crematorium

The Tiruchirappalli City Corporation has installed a closed circuit television camera at the crematorium at Karumandapam, which was reopened for public purpose on Monday.

It has decided to run the crematorium on its own and employed four persons for the job. Mayor A. Jaya and Commissioner M. Vijayalakshmi visited the crematorium and reviewed the functioning of it. Ms. Jaya said that CCTV had been installed to show the process of burning. The mourners could watch the proceedings from prayer hall. The crematorium would be manned by a supervisor and four employees. They would be on duty on rotation basis round the clock.
