July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - TIRUCHI:

Customs officials seized four gold biscuits concealed in an electronic safe locker that was being carried by an air passenger at the airport here on Sunday night. Sources said the Air Intelligence Unit grew suspicious of the activity of Naseer (32), a native of Tiruvarur district, after he landed here from Kuala Lumpur by a Malindo Air flight. After detaining him for enquiry, the Customs officials searched the electronic safe locker he carried and found the gold biscuits concealed inside the locker box. The smuggled gold biscuits estimated at Rs. 12.60 lakh were seized. The sources said Naseer was a “carrier” as the consignment was handed over to him by some one.
