JMC inks pact with BARC

The Department of Zoology of the Jamal Mohamed College (JMC) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for taking up a research project on aquatic biota, the flora and fauna living in water.

The interdisciplinary project would assess the toxicological impact of nano particles of heavy metals on aquatic biota. The project will help address various environmental issues, a JMC press release said.

The MoU was signed by B.N.Jagatap, Director, Chemistry Group, BARC, and A.K.Khaja Nazeemudeen, Secretary and Correspondent of JMC. A.Sadiq Bukhari, assistant professor, will be the principal investigator of the project and H.E.Syed Mohamed the co-investigator.
