Law college students arrested

July 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - TIRUCHI:

A group of 18 Government Law College students were arrested here on Monday after they attempted to indulge in a novel liquor consumption protest to bring to the notice of the government the hazards of consuming alcohol and demanding implementation of prohibition.

The students assembled near the central bus stand area where a posse of police personnel was deployed to thwart the agitation held without permission.

As the students attempted to stage the stir, the police prevented them leading to arguments for a while. The students were arrested and later released in the evening, police sources said.
