K. Chandru, former Judge of the Madras High Court was present in Tiruchi on Sunday and said the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, his writings, and speeches about the Constitution must be made as a lesson for law students.
Speaking at a function organised by “Kalam” organisation here to introduce his book Ambedkar Oliyil Enathu Theerpugal , he said a number of national and international laws had been taught at the law colleges and law schools. There were not much inputs about Dr. Ambedkar who wrote the Constitution.
He delivered special lectures and interviews on several occasions about the Constitution, caste system, social evils, and so on. There was a need for enabling the law students to study in detail about Dr. Ambedkar. Expressing concern over the reports of injustice and atrocities against the oppressed lot, Mr. Chandru said that equality was still a dream for many people in Indian society. The incidents of discrimination on caste and others continued to occur.
A complete social transformation was required for ensuring equality.
Stating that his book had highlighted the sufferings of oppressed class people he said he had brought out some of the noteworthy and relevant judgments in his book. The attempt would bring a hope for the oppressed class people.
