About 1,000-odd students of Jegan Matha Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the city weaved a human pattern in the form of a book to honour Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi for his contributions to promote children’s education.
The programme was organised jointly by Rotary Club of Tiruchi Shakthi and the school under the programme titled ‘M4 - Mask Movement to Mark the Victory of Nobel Man – a salute to service.’
Wearing a mask of Mr.Satyarthi, the students stood in the form of a book, presenting a visual treat to the onlookers.
Allirani Balaji, president of the Rotary Club of Tiruchi Shakthi, said the programme aimed at honouring Mr.Satyarthi in recognition of his tireless efforts for 35 years and his campaign to uphold child rights. It also aimed at creating awareness about the evils of child labour.
