Tiruvanaikovil bridge to be closed for three days

The city police have announced the following traffic diversions around the Tiruvanaikovil over-bridge road in the city from July 4 to 6 in view of the track doubling work taken up by the Southern Railway.

All buses bound for Srirangam from Chathram Bus Stand would be diverted via Anna Statue, Mambazhasalai, Amma Mandapam, and Srirangam Old Stand. In the return direction, they would go via Gandhi Road, Thiruvanaikovil Junction, Bypass ‘Y’ Road Junction, Kondayampettai Junction, Sanjeevi Nagar, Oyamari Road, Devadhanam and Butterworth Road to reach Chathram Bus Stand.

Town buses bound for Samayapuram and Lalgudi from Chathram Bus Stand would go via Mambazhasalai, Amma Mandapam, Srirangam Old Bus Stand, Gandhi Road, Thiruvanaikovil Junction, Coleroon Checkpost and Bypass Y Road.

In the return direction, the buses would be diverted via Bypass Y Road, Thiruvanaikovil Junction, K.K. Road Junction, Kondayampetti Junction, Sanjeevi Nagar, Oyamari Road, Devadhanam, and Butterworth Road to reach Chathram Bus Stand.

Mofussil buses

Mofussil buses bound for Thuraiyur, Ariyalur, and Perambalur from Chathram Bus Stand would be diverted via Mambazhasalai, Amma Mandapam, Srirangam Old Bus Stand, Gandhi Road, Thiruvanaikovil Junction, Bypass Y Road. In the return direction, they would have to go via Chennai Bypass Y Road, Kondayampettai, Sanjeevi Nagar junction, Oyamari Road, Devadhanam, and Butterworth Road.

Goods vehicles bound for Chennai, Thanjavur, and Pudukottai from Karur would be diverted at Kulithalai to go via Musiri and No.1 Tollgate to reach the Chennai Bypass.

In the return direction, the vehicles would have to go via Chennai Bypass, No.1 Tollgate and Musiri, according to a release.
