CPI writes to Governor on MLC

May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

CPI State Secretary K. Ramakrishna wrote a letter to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan urging him to suggest the Chief Minister to send a fresh list of names of personalities who were not active in politics to be nominated to Legislative Council under Governor quota.

Mr. Ramakrishna on Thursday said that the list sent by the government contained names of controversial political leaders. “We strongly believe that the Cabinet recommendations are not in the best tradition that well known personalities in the fields of literature, social sciences, culture are nominated to the Legislative Council under Governor quota,” he said.
