Gopikrishna’s parents worried over his safety

The family members of Mr. Gopikrishna, who was kidnapped by terrorists in Libya, were worried over his safety and they sought the Indian Government's immediate attention for his safe release. Mr.Gopikrishna's parents Narayana Rao and Saraswati and other family members live in Tekkali, 40 km from Srikakulam. His wife Kalyani and daughter stay in Hyderabad.

Mr. Gopikrishna studied M.Sc. (Computer Science) and is employed as an assistant professor in an educational institution in Libya. His family members and local friends were shocked by the news of his kidnap. His close friend G. Leela Varaprasad told The Hindu that Mr. Gopikrishna had spoken to him a couple of days ago.

Mr. Varaprasad, another friend Kishore and neighbours consoled the family members and said that the government was taking steps for his release along with the other three persons who were believed to be abducted by terrorists.

Srikakulam SP A.S. Khan said that he has been in touch with the Indian embassy in Libya.
